Hi Niek, mooie foto's!

Hier wat feedback per foto:

• contrast: Inderdaad mooi contast! Zou de kerkuil zelf nog wat lichter maken.
• 4725: mooie vluchtfoto! Ik vind de crop zo ook mooi, maar heb je al geprobeerd om boven minder ruimte te geven (en dan onder/rechts weer meer). Weet niet of ie dan beter wordt, maar je kunt het altijd proberen.
• 5278-2: Altijd leuk natuurlijk die konijnuiltjes. Net portret, wel jammer dat ie wat van boven is geschoten, op ooghoogte was mooier geweest denk ik.
• 5917: qua compositie zou ik veel minder loze ruimte rechts willen (en dan meer links).
• grijze wouw: Goed portret, mooie zachte achtergrond! Zou wel links iets minder en dan rechts wat meer ruimte nemen, dat verbetert de compositie denk ik.
• Homers blik: Interessante pose inderdaad. Hooguit jammer dat er nu (door de achtergrond) een beetje een storende “lijn” door het beeld loopt.
• kalkoengier in kucht: kan de scherpte niet helemaal beoordelen, maar als die goed is prima beeld! Zou nog wel een flink stuk croppen om het beeld nog sterker te maken.
• kalkoengier opwarmen: gewoon netjes, heel duidelijk dat ie lekker aan het zonnen is. (je zou de witbalans wellicht nog iets warmer kunnen zetten om dat nóg duidelijker te maken)
• kalkoengier zijwaatrs: Qua pose vind ik deze heel erg goed (hmm, moet ik zelf ook eens proberen te schieten; heb ik volgens mij nog niet). Qua compositie zou ik links weglaten en rechts toevoegen (maar dan moet dat wel kunnen natuurlijk).
• kerkuil: Wow, volgens mij super scherp (op de door jou gestuurde grootte in ieder geval). Altijd mooi vind ik, deze poses. Ook hier zou ik qua compositie de ruimte rechts, liever links hebben.
• kwak: Mooi portret, heel mooi de opvallende kleur gevangen (fel zonlicht is soms best fijn )
• oranje ogen: inderdaad, oranje ogen Had nog mooier geweest als je er recht voor had kunnen staan en beide ogen je recht aankeken. Maar goed dat lukt natuurlijk niet altijd.
• vanuit de lucht: goed, maar hier zou ik de compositie toch iets anders willen (minder ruimte links, meer rechts). Witbalans lijkt me ook wat aan de warme kant.
• vleugels testen: ook leuk, maar zou ik meer croppen om het beeld krachtiger te maken.
• woestijnbuizerd met kuiken:

Samenvattend: mooie foto's die bovendien (in ieder geval op de grootte die je me stuurde) ook mooi scherp waren. Hooguit hier en daar de crop nog wat aanpassen, maar verder heel fijne beelden

Toch fijn te zien dat jullie allemaal zulke goede foto's weten te maken tijdens de workshop!

Feedback:

• 3810 (grijze wouw): netjes, mooie achtergrond, goede belichting.
• 3918 (grijze wouw, landend): lijkt me net niet helemaal scherp, maar wel mooie actie! Zou 'm wel nog iets croppen (met name rechts).
• 3945 (grijze wouw, vliegend): mooie pose, iets (te?) krap aan de bovenkant, ook deze misschien iets meer croppen?
• 4184 (kwakken in vlucht): very nice! Netjes scherp en mooie combinatie van de twee samen
• 4235 (konijnuitljespaar): leuk beeld, goede compositie en scherpte. Misschien nog iets krapper croppen (onder mag nog iets weg voor de verhouding denk ik)
• 4306 (konijnuiltje in vlucht): Goed! (zou deze iets warmer maken wellicht)
• 4310 (twee konijnuiltjes): mooi, op zich jammer dat de zittende zijn ogen iets dicht heeft, maar ik vind het wel een hele mooie combinatie. Lukt mij eigenlijk zelden tot nooit!
• 4341-2 (konijnuiltje in vlucht): jammer dat ie niet helemaal scherp is, anders zou ie perfect zijn.
• 4514 (grijze wouw): net portret, mooi scherp

Met dank aan Johan voor de prachtige foto's. Hier wat feedback.

Algemeen: de foto's zijn wat aan de “bruine” kant, maar dit is eenvoudig op te lossen door de witbalans aan te passen. Bij RAW fotos (wat hier het geval is) kan dit zelfs zonder kwaliteitsverlies. Welke software gebruik je voor de bewerking, Johan?

• 2165 (kerkuil biddend in de lucht): Super beeld, mooie pose en perfect scherp (ik kon de beelden op volledige grote bewonderen). Als ik iets zou veranderen zou het (naast de reeds vermelde witbalans) hooguit de crop zijn; die zou ik iets symetrischer links en rechts maken en liefst ook nog wat meer ruimte aan de onderkant. Belichting lijkt me goed, misschien nog een tikkie lichter in de donkere delen, maar waarschijnlijk is ie na aanpassen witbalans al perfect.
• 2184 (kerkuil tussen de struiken): Netjes en ook weer goed scherp. Weer eens wat anders! Vind hooguit (toch) dat takje voor zijn snavel storend.
• 2292 (kerkuil in vlucht): Netjes, maar natuurlijk niet zo spectaculair (en scherp) als de vorige.
• 2303 (kertkuil op stam): Grappige pose. Jammer dat de bladeren in achtergrond in de weg ziten, maar vanuit een ander standpunt had ie je weer niet mooi recht aangekeken. Al had je dat misschien kunnen oplossen door juist vanuit een lager standpunt te schieten. Had het beeld denk ik wel iets beter gemaakt.
• 2313 (portret): Scherpte spettert er vanaf . Qua uitsnede zou ik rechts en vooral boven nog wat weglaten (meer aan de onderkant, als dat er is, zou mogen maar hoeft niet; een heel krappe uitsnede – met ruimte links – is denk ik hier wel mooi).
• 2452 (jagende kwakken): Mooie actie! Zou deze nog wel een stuk croppen om meer impact aan het beeld te geven.
• 2489 (vliegend konijnuitlje): Blijft altijd moeilijk; de konijnuiltjes zijn klein en best snel.
• 2524-2 (landend konijnuitlje): Super standpunt en pose! Mooi scherp ook. Ik zou hooguit meer ruimte rechts willen (ruimte boven is overbodig). Met een beetje Photoshop is dat door de egale achtergrond overigens redelijk eenvoudig te doen
• 2660 (kalkoengier): Heel knap, mooi belicht en netjes in focus! Hier zou ik hooguit meer ruimte links willen (net als voorgaande beeld redelijk eenvoudig in Photoshop te doen).
• 2868 (oehoe): Mooie scherpte. Jammer dat je zijn ogen niet ziet; die zijn zo mooi oranje als er zon op schijnt.
• 2915 (alaska zeearend in vlucht): Knap, hier zou ik liever de ruimte aan de onderkant willen zien dan aan de bovenkant, denk dat ie daar nog beter van wordt. Als je die ruimte niet hebt zou je ook een stevig crop kunnen overwegen om zo de verhoudingen “mooier” te krijgen.
• 2939 (alaska zeearend portret): Nice (goed voorbeeld van hoe klein de scherpte diepte kan zijn!). Zou deze wel wat croppen en met name links en boven weglaten om het beeld wat meer impact te geven.
• 3065 (woestijnbuizerd): Knap, dit was een van de snellere vogels van de dag, mooi geschoten. Ook deze zou ik nog wat croppen om meer impact aan het beeld te geven.

Samenvattend: prachtige foto's! Kun je trots op zijn

De foto's van Bianca zijn eigenlijk allemaal onbewerkt en komen direct zo uit de camera! Voor de meeste foto's geldt dan ook dat ze met een beetje nabewerking (o.a. witbalans, belichting, verzadiging, croppen) nog een stuk beter zullen worden!

Hieronder mijn feedback (gezien het grote aantal foto's zal ik niet elke foto van feedback voorzien).

• 0864: Alaska Zeearend Homer aan de wandel. Leuke foto, goede houding. Ik zou hooguit iets meer ruimte aan de bovenkant gehad willen hebben.
• 0900…0923: 4x Woestijnbuizerd. Helaas niet perfect scherp, maar deze vogel is dan ook niet de makkelijkste om in vlucht te fotograren. Ik zou met name de 1e twee nog wat croppen.
• 1213…1337: 6x Kerkuil. Netjes! Ik vind de laatste het leukst, ik heb er zelf nog geen waarbij ie met een muis vliegt. Nice! Met de juiste crop worden ze nog beter. Daarnaast zijn ze een tikje overbelicht (wat te verwachten viel), maar dat kun je in de nabewerking waarschijnlijk nog wel corrigeren.
• 1359: Ooievaar. Goed vluchtshot. Hoef je weinig aan te doen anders dan een klein beetje croppen.
• 1431: Kwakken/ Jammer dat beide vogels niet helemaal scherp zijn (in het beste geval had je er waarschijnlijk toch maar één scherp kunnen krijgen), maar zeker een leuke actiefototo!
• 1476…1601: 6x Konijnuitljes. Jammer dat de eerste echt zwaar overbelicht zijn geraakt, ben bang dat je die ook niet helemaal meer kunt redden in de nabewerking. De eerste is een hele gekke houding; je moet echt goed kijken voordat je doorhebt wat je ziet! De een na laatste (1590) vind ik echt fantastisch, super pose en ook perfect scherp (ook op 100%!). Deze zou ik zelf gemaakt willen hebben, dan zou ie zo mijn portfolio in zijn gegaan
• 1664…1678: 4x Grijze Wouw. De eerste twee zijn overbelicht, daarbij vind ik de tweede een beetje saai. De twee laatste zijn stukken beter en goed scherp.
• 1719…1789: 7x Oehoe. Haha die tweede (1725) is gek. Alsof ie zo in de foto is geplakt. Verder best netjes. NB: de auto correct die je bij 1732A en 1738A vertelde te hebben toegepast heeft een deel verbeterd (verzadiging en kleur met name), maar heeft wel iets te veel contrast toegevoegd; met name het zwart mist nu details.
• 1826…1909: 8x Alaska Zeearend. Wow, je vluchtfoto's en dan met name 1874 en 1882 zijn heel netjes in focus. Chapeau
• 1983: Woestijnbuizerd. Helaas, net als bij je eerdere serie is deze niet niet scherp genoeg, maar dit was dan ook een van de lastigere vogels in vlucht.

Samenvattend toch zeker een aantal heel nette foto's. Ze kunnen echter allemaal wel wat nabewerking gebruiken (maar dat is normaal; ook vroeger werden foto's “ontwikkeld”). Je had Lightroom, ga daar dus zeker mee aan de slag!

Excellent! Good to hear you did the things you did on purpose

For both new portraits (that are exceptionally well in focus by the way), I'd have liked it better if the owls either looked at you straight, or that they'd have something (even if it is just blank space) to look at or to.
