First attempt I am happy enough about to post.. I used HDR Efex Pro with a pre-set (Realistic Dark) and some tweaking. Sharpened the texts in PhotoShop.

Nice, I like the atmosphere of your shots!

Door: Good idea, now why haven't I thought of this one before? I like this one very much. Personally (but I'm a straightness freak), I'd change the perspective a bit so the door is straight again.

Below the coke oven: Classic shot. You managed to keep the highlights in the windows very well, this means you took the right amount of brackets. Excellent! If I have to comment, I'd say I would make it a bit “darker”, that would do the atmosphere of the place even more justice, I think. But other than that, nice shot!

Thanks for the feedback! On the door: I actually like the perspective, not too crazy about straight myself 
On the other one I think you are right, I lost the atmosphere a bit. New attempt..

The “below the cove oven” is indeed much nicer now it's darker

Staircase: Lovely lines and I like the fact everything is in basically just two colours (three if you count the sky).

Locomotive: Hmm, interesting! I usually go past that one since somehow I can't seem to like it/find a good framing for it. You've showed me it can definitely be done. I would perhaps tilt the image a little bit to the left since it feels like it is leaning over a bit. All in all: very nice!

Compressors: Another classic shot, of course, but one you simply have to take Perhaps add a little bit of “structure” in post processing to give it some more impact, but that would be all, I like it “natural” and realistic.

I'm not done playing around, but I'm critical about which images actually show an interesting picture. This is one I like.

How can I get rid of the bright light at the tiny window? I tried using a control point and reducing exposure, but then it turns grey/black.

I like the red hard-hat in the first one. As a straightness freak, I'd made the door straight, of course, but that's personal

The  stairs, I used your idea of this photo too If you haven't taken an absolute dark image where the bright spot isn't blown, then I'm afraid there's not really much that can be done in that area apart from manually painting in details. But to be honest, I don't really mind the bright spot, especially not if you turn this image into a high contrast black and white (what would be my suggestion anyway).

Tried the black and white suggestion :-) I like it, but the green and yellow tints in the colour one go better with the theme of the other pictures..

Nice, the black and white version does indeed work better. But I guess you're right about the colours more matching the rest of the images, so which one to pick is a challenge (or: keep both and decide depending on where/how you are going to use the image).
